Analyzing News Coverage and Who Supports Amputees after the Limb is Gone?

My friend and brilliant novelist Susan Stinson sent a link from a web journal that astutely summarizes the more inchoate frustration I have been feeling watching the television coverage on the earthquake (I've only had cable for less than 6 months.  I'm just now experiencing first hand how awful the news coverage can be) . Please read Kelli Dunham's post, "Are All Journalists Idiots or Only the Ones Dispatched to Haiti?"

One of the things that has most impressed me about the American Friends Service Committee has been their work on development efforts in Cambodia, which included providing prostheses to amputees in the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge genocide.  They have made a commitment to support those who have suffered amputations as a result of the earthquake.
