The OIl Is Still There

This just in at 9:47 tonight, from fisherfolk in the Gulf by Karen Savage: "...  have received reports from fishermen in Pass Christian of a large fish, ray, and seagull kill - accompanied by large amounts of oil pouring into a cove - east of the Pass Christian Harbor. To make things worse, it appears that VOO workers who came in today with oily boom were immediately laid off. It is suspected that this was done so that BP can spray even more dispersent without being seen."

VOO is Vessels of Opportunity, the operation set up by BP to use laid off fishing vessels in the oil clean up.

Clearly this isn't the time to be re-opening the fisheries.
